USA Art of Élan launches its third annual residency with the nationally recognized A Reason To Survive (ARTS), an organization that believes in the power of the arts and creativity to literally transform lives – especially those of kids facing adversity. Consisting of weekly workshops, where 10 ARTS Empower students and alumni have the opportunity to be individually mentored by professional Art of Élan musicians through unique apprenticeships, the Young Artists in Harmony residency will culminate in two separate performances for the San Diego community.

USA Art of Élan’s popular downtown series returns with a special show that fuses electronic and classical music, featuring the World Premiere of AJ Nilles‘ “Beat Suite No. 2”. Also on the program are selected movements from Daniel Wohl‘s “Corps Exquis”, for mixed ensemble and electronics. There will be food and beer and wine for sale. Cucina Caprese will bring their wood burning pizza oven and the beer will be provided by Mike Hess Brewing. The evening will also feature an interactive installation by San Diego sound artist Chris Warren, and the after-party will feature music by A Hundred Ghosts.
